PM Roosevelt Skerrit advises people to register for COVID-19 vaccine at health centres

Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, talked about the country's foreign policy and its diplomacy relations in his recent Anou Pale episode. He was joined by Dr. Vince Henderson- Ambassador to US and OAS.

Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit stated that the ministry of health is ready to initiate a new phase of coronavirus vaccination, and the drive will begin in all seven districts starting from Monday.

PM Skerrit added that firstly the health ministry would immunize its priority groups, generally consisting of the most vulnerable to the disease.

The vaccination drive, beginning from today, will start from 9 am onwards and end at around 3 pm Monday to Friday.

Prime Minister stated that people who intend to get vaccinated could visit:

1. Roseau Health Centre
2. Grand-Bay Health Centre
3. St Joseph's Health Centre
4. Marigot Health Centre
5. Portsmouth Health Centre

Furthermore, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit noted that people could also contact their district head nurses. He stated that people could also pre-register online by logging on to Vaccineregistration.Dominica.gov.dm.  There are currently 12 coronavirus cases in Dominica with no virus-related deaths. As per the health ministry's data, over 121 people have successfully recovered from the contagious disease.

He stated that taking a coronavirus vaccine is not mandtory but, he still advised people to safeguard themselves against the viral disease.

Besides this, Dr. Vince Henderson joined Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit through a video-conferencing; he discussed the most anticipated project- the geothermal plant of Dominica. Dr. Henderson stated that the country would be equipped with generating 120 MWT of electricity through the geothermal plant. He stated this would relatively lower the costs of electricity and assist Dominicans in all manners.
