PM Harris expresses condolences to family of Nyian Farrell.
Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris expressed grief on the passing of the devoted Foreign Service Officer, Ms Nyian Farrell. He then recalled the minister for her service towards the nation.

The Prime Minister took social media and wrote, “I extend heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Nyian Farrell, who sadly mourns her loss. We are grateful for all that she did in serving her nation.”

Along with Prime Minister Harris, many other leaders came forward to express condolence and prayed for the family of Nyian Farrell.

The demise of the Foreign Service Officer was shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation. Farrell took her last breath on 11th February 2022.

“It is with deep sadness that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation informs of the passing of a devoted Foreign Service Officer, Ms Nyian Farrell, and transitioned to glory on Friday, 11th February 2022,” the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation read.

The statement further informed that her condolence book would be available for singing until her funeral. “The Condolence Book will be open for signing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation from Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. until her funeral,” the statement mentioned.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded, “May the soul of our dearly departed colleague and friend rest in eternal peace.”

Farrell had been in the service with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation of St Kitts and Nevis for more than ten years. In the past ten years, the minister served between the Ministry’s Head Office and Saint Kitts and Nevis Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, USA.

The former Foreign Service Officer was graduated from the Midwestern State University and served as the first black Student Government Association president. She was also a distinguished alumnus of the honours program.
