Capitol rioters intended to capture and assassinate elected officials

Federal prosecutors on Thursday presented a new assessment of last week's siege of the US Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump, filing in a courtroom that the rioters "intended to capture and assassinate elected officials."

Prosecutors made the motion in a petition to ask Judge Chansley, an Arizona man and law conspiracy theorist, to be detained, who was famously photographed wearing horns as he walked in the chamber of the US Senate, Vice President Mike Stood on Pence's desk.

The detention memo, written by attorneys at the Department of Justice in Arizona, goes into more detail about the FBI's investigation of Chancelle that it left a note to Pence's warning that "it's only a matter of time, justice is arriving." Prosecutors wrote, "Strong evidence, including Chancelle's own words and actions at the Capitol, supports that Capitol rioters intended to capture and assassinate elected officials."

A public defender representing the chancellor could not immediately be reached for comment. Chansli is scheduled to appear in federal court on Friday. Prosecutors and federal agents have begun to bring more serious charges tied to violence in the Capitol, including the disclosure of cases against a man, retired firefighter Robert Sanford, as an evaluation of prosecutors.

They beat a police officer with a fire extinguisher over the head and another, Peter Stagger, beating a different officer with a pole holding an American flag. In Chansley's case, prosecutors said the allegations "involved active participation in an attempt to forcefully defeat the United States government" and cautioned that "the rebellion still continues" because of law enforcement in Washington and the state capitals Ready for more demonstrations.

He also suggested that he suffered from drug abuse and mental illness and told the judge that he was in danger of a serious flight. "Chansey has talked openly about his idea that he is an alien, a higher being, and that he is here to ascend to another reality on Earth," he wrote.

The Justice Department brought more than 80 illegal cases in conjunction with the intense riots in the US Capitol last week, in which Trump's supporters ransacked the building, ransacked offices, and in some cases attacked police.

Many of those charged so far was easily tracked by the FBI, which has more than 200 suspects, recognition in large portion to videos and photos published on social media.

Michael Sherwin, serving US Attorney for the District of Columbia, has stated that while many of the primary assessments may appear minor, he requires far more serious charges to be filed as the Justice Department continues its investigation.
