PM Drew takes first sunrise flight to Antigua for SIDS4

The Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew had the first Sunrise Airways flight yesterday to Antigua with the founder and CEO of airline.

St. Kitts and Nevis: Dr. Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis had the first Sunrise Airways flight yesterday to Antigua. He accompanied the founder and CEO of the airline, Philippe Bayard. The Prime Minister’s prime aim for flying to Antigua is to be part of the 4th International Conference of Sustainable Island Developing states (SIDS4). The PM is currently in Antigua with the delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Climate Action. The opening session of the SIDS4 took place yesterday (May 27, 2024). This three day long conference is effective till May 30, 2024. On the first day, the Prime Minister led the delegation of St. Kitts and Nevis including Dr. Denzil Douglas- the Foreign Minister and Joyelle Clarke- the Minister of Sustainable Development. PM Terrance Drew with Foreign Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas at SIDS4, credits to Facebook[/caption] The 4th international conference of Sustainable Island Developing States this year is going to be held under the theme- “Charting the Course Towards Resilient Prosperity.” This aims at working towards a more sustainable, prosperous and resilient future for Small Island Developing States. The SIDS4 significantly would offer an opportunity to the leaders and stakeholders to come under and work for the better future of the small island nations. This will include valuable discussions including the insights that would enable to explore innovative solutions and strategies to address the concerning issues affecting the island nations. Considerably, the global collaborations at the event would surely provide support towards fostering sustainable development for the developing island states. As well, there will be expert insights included which surely would foster building resilience and prosperity among the islands. The networking opportunities at the event would offer an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, forge partnerships, and contribute to the global dialogue on sustainable development. Barbados in 1994
Mauritius in 2005
Samoa in 2014

These all went so successful and gave great outcomes by fostering change in the nations. Similarly, it is expected that this year as well it would bring out the best for the growth and development of the small developing island nations.
