Miss World 2024: Trinidadian Aché Abrahams makes it to top 4, wins Continental Queen title

Aché Abrahams represented Trinidad and Tobago with pride at the 71st edition of the Miss World in India. She was one of the top four out of 140 contestants and was crowned as the Continental queen of the Americas & Caribbean.

Abrahams brought Trinidad and Tobago to the closest it's been to the Miss World crown in years.

The 24-year-old Abrahams, along with Lesego Chombo of Botswana, Krystyna Pyszkova of Czech Republic and Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon, were the top four contestants and Continental Queens at the pageant. The luxurious event took place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, on Saturday. The crown of the prestigious pageant was secured by Miss Czech Republic, while Miss Lebanon was the first runner-up.

As Miss World Caribbean, Abrahams, along with other continental winners, will travel to different parts of the planet with the newly crowned Miss World.

The citizens and resident of Trinidad and Tobago have flooded the social media with congratulatory messages and are expressing their pride to have Aché Abrahams represent the small island proudly on an international stage.

During the final question and answer round, Abrahams gave an excellent answer which impressed the judges and secured her the coveted title of Continental queen of the Americas & Caribbean.

As the question was, "Why should you be Miss World 2024?" Abrahams replied,

"Namaste, everyone. Sorry. I'm excited. So, firstly, when I stand here, I represent 1.4 million people of Trinidad and Tobago, and what I can offer, Miss World, is the mindset of my people.

In India, I know you say the world is one family, and in Trinidad and Tobago, we say that every creed and race finds an equal place. And so, the way I live my life is with that motto, with that mantra. And I believe Miss World has a similar mantra. I believe when you have compassion and understanding for differences, you can really make a difference in the world and work hand in hand to create a bright future. I'm so honoured to be here and to share the mindset of Trinidad and Tobago because we can truly make a difference.

In Trinidad and Tobago, we acknowledge our similarities, but more importantly, we celebrate our differences. We see the beauty and diversity, and we promote inclusion.
