St Kitts and Nevis continues to thrive in healthcare, PM Drew recalls achievements
PM Drew said that for the first time ever, the country has a kidney transplant program at JNF Hospital, which shows the transition to highly sophisticated and modern medical care.

PM Drew said that for the first time ever, the country has a kidney transplant program at JNF Hospital, which shows the transition to highly sophisticated and modern medical care. He also recalled that an HR personnel was hired as part of the staff at the hospital, which had never been done before.
[caption id="attachment_63334" align="aligncenter" width="538"] St Kitts and Nevis Launches Historic Kidney Transplant Program[/caption] He said that St Kitts and Nevis has the most specialists ever at the same time in the history of JNF Hospital, which included an Endocrinologist (diabetes and hormone doctor), a Neurologist (brand and nerve doctor), 4 Internists, 3 Anaesthesiologists, 2 Paediatricians, 3 Surgeons, 4 Gynaecologists, 7 Radiographers (the highest number ever) and a Psychologist was also reinstated to strengthen mental health care. In addition to this, Prime Minister Terrance Drew said that the hospital also has the most equipment ever at the same time in its history. These included the following: - New Anaesthesiology machines - New fluoroscopy machine - Highly advanced ultrasound machines that can also perform heart ultrasounds - New medicine cabinet - New CT Scan machine purchased - Highest number of dialysis machines - Electroencephalogram (EEG) machine to test the brainAlso, the hospital went under most upgrades under the Labour Government since its construction. The government refurbished its morgue, repaired the hospital roof to end years of leading, refurbished the hospital foyer, installed ACs on the wards for the very first time and also purchased the heavy-duty washing machines to enhance the availability of linens.
As the Prime Minister recalled all these major achievements, the citizens and residents lauded him for his hard work and also thanked him for enhancing healthcare.“Thank you for all you are doing for the people of the Federation.
