St Kitts and Nevis: The Halfway Tree Playing field is undergoing significant transformations to convert the field into a fully furnished one. Samal Duggins, Minister of Sports, said that this ongoing renovation is a pledge to improve and facilitate the sports sector and ensure that it meets the standards of Local and more significant events.
"The project is not merely an upgrade of physical structures; it's a revitalisation of a space that holds a special place in the hearts of the community," he added.
Further, Minister Duggins emphasised that this benefit comes not only as a sports facility but also as a place to thrive in community teamwork spirit and individual sportsmanship.While reflecting on his vision behind this initiative, he stressed that this significant project aimed to bring community pride and sports excellence among the teams.
The Minister also noted his commitment to fostering development and creating understanding among the Youth about the importance of the sports sector. As per him, sports are crucial in building community bonds, promoting a healthier and safer lifestyle, and nurturing the nation's young talents.
He said that this ongoing renovation is a part of the nation's government's vision to enhance, facilitate, and upgrade the sports facilities across the country.
"The Halfway Tree Playing Field transformation promises to offer an improved venue for various games and events. With upgraded amenities, better seating capacity, enhanced safety features, and modernised playing surfaces, the facility is set to become a hub for sporting excellence," Minister Duggins further outlined.Furthermore, while noting the project's positive aspects, Minister Duggins stated that the project will benefit the athletes and sportsmen and persuade young sports enthusiasts and freaks to continue their passion and inspire other generations with the same.
