Two test positive for coronavirus in St Kitts & Nevis

The Federation of St Kitts and Nevis has recorded its first cases of the coronavirus.
Minister of State with duty over the Ministry of Health, Wendy Phipps, asserted at a press conference on Wednesday.
She stated: “The sufferers are a 57 yr old woman and a 21 yr antique male, both of whom are Kittitian nationals with recent journey histories to New York, a jurisdiction which up to March 24, had recorded some 23 230 confirmed instances of COVID-19.”
Minister Phipps stated both people arrived in the Federation on March 18 and have been tested days later on March 20.
“We desire to remind the public that the contamination of both sufferers is journey related, which means that the instances of COVID-19 were imported into the country. Every attempt is now being taken to save you the opportunity of community or neighbourhood transmission,” she stated.
Minister Phipps said both sufferers have been self-quarantined considering they go back to the island, but the Ministry has initiated touch tracing in an try to identify the people they might have interacted.
