Local contractors building 37 homes in Joe Burton: PM Roosevelt Skerrit
Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit visited the Joe Burton site where the 37 climate-resilient homes are under construction.

Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit visited the Joe Burton site where the 37 climate-resilient homes are under construction. Some cabinet members also accompanied the Prime Minister during the visit.
Prime Minister, during his visit, stated that all the homes at Joe Burton site are being constructed by y local contractors and all services also provided by local Dominicans.
The 37 residences are being built for the family's who would be affected due to Dominica's international airport's construction.

The interesting point is that all of these homes are being built by local contractors," stated PrimeMinister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit during the site visit.
The international airport project is the biggest project for Dominica, which would cost around 800-900 million dollars.

As per Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, people are being compensated well. He had added earlier that the government is providing homes to those who have accepted homes and giving lands in exchange for land for those who accepted.
Besides this, over 150 acres of land in the west area is swapped with the farmers giving their lands for the international airport.
