"I am also a farmer myself," says PM Roosevelt Skerrit at Agri-Investment Forum in Guyana
Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, is currently in Georgetown Guyana to participate in Agri- Investment Forum and Expo.

During the inaugural ceremony of the Agri-Investment Forum, he stated that Dominica is capable of providing the region with a variety of crops at affordable prices.
He emphasized that before importing vegetables or fruits from other parts of the world, the countries must consider importing from sister nations in the region itself. PM Skerrit called on CARICOM countries to remove impositions are at placed.
"We as governments speak about helping farmers, but in the process of attracting the tourism industry, we give concessions to these hotels to import food from outside the region," said the Dominican Prime Minister.
"I am a farmer myself, and I am completely self-sufficient; I eat fruits every day that come from my farm and are grown by me," said Prime Minister Skerrit.
He also talked about the food security in the region and asked CARICOM countries to come together to support each other. Besides this, he also commended the leadership of President Irfaan Ali of Guyana.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is heading Dominica's delegation, which includes Minister for Trade Ian Douglas, Minister for Agriculture Fidel Grant and local farmers Deles Warrington and Hillary Shillingford.The three-day Agri-Investment Forum and Expo started on Friday and is expected to conclude tomorrow.
