Dominica's first mission to the Middle East, Island nation welcomes Embassy in Abu Dhabi

Caribbean Island of Dominica opened its embassy in Abu Dhabi. Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit inaugurated the embassy.

This initiative becomes Dominica's first mission to the Abu Dhabi and the entire Middle East. Last Year, the Commonwealth nation appointed Hubert J. Charles as Resident Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and announced to open an embassy.

The Caribbean island of Dominica will soon open its next embassy in India, with a vision to build new relations with the world's largest democracy.

During the inauguration ceremony, PM Dr Skerrit acknowledged gratitude towards the country's Citizenship by Investment Programme (CBIP) which is assisting the nation in developing and building relationships across the globe.

Dominican PM added that Dominica has a small yet dynamic community; citizens in the UAE are contributing to the dynamism of its service sector and sustainable development at home.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Skerrit stated that the extreme demand and interest from the United Arab Emirates highly contributed towards the bilateral relations between both nations and made the Dominican government establish its embassy in Abu Dhabi and a Dominica Consulate General in Dubai.

Various dignitaries graced the inauguration with their presence, including Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry; Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, Director of the Visits Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Hubert Charles, Dominica's ambassador to the UAE, embassy staff, and several members of the diplomatics accredited to the country.

Hubert J. Charles, who is former Dominican Ambassador to the US and UNESCO will look to execute Dominica's foreign policy in the UAE, in adjacent collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign & CARICOM Affairs.
