Dominica: Govt to demolish old health centre in Bagatelle to construct 16 housing units
Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit visited the Petite Savanne Constituency on Thursday and took note of the developmental activities taking place.  During the visit, PM Skerrit stated that the new Bagatelle Health and Wellness Center is complete and will be commissioned soon. He stated that the government has decided to demolish the old health centre and construct sixteen climate-resilient housing units for residents of Bagatelle. Besides this, in Pichelin, the government will improve the safety of an existing bridge and rehabilitate Chatwell Road, linking Pichelin to Bellevue Chopin. Prime Minister Skerrit and his team also made stops in Dubique and Geneva to further assess plans for the commencement of work on the Loubiere to Bagatelle Road project.

He also visited Virgin Lane and River Street in Roseau Central constituency with Parliament representative Melissa Skerrit and Minister of Public Works Cassani Laville. "This walkthrough was geared at compiling pertinent information for an upcoming project which will address the drainage and sidewalk issues which are affecting the residents and nearby schools," stated Melissa Skerrit.  Melissa Skerrit stated that the upcoming project would also see the completion of the ongoing 'Footpath project', which aims to provide a safe pathway to the residents' homes. This trip's significant highlight was the visit to Great George Street, where the government will launch the highly anticipated Roseau Enhancement Project.

This major project will include upgrading sidewalks to have wheelchair accessibility and the placement of underground cables while presenting an aesthetically pleasing view. The team also toured the location for the New Roseau Health Center and Upper River Bank apartment buildings. People are eagerly waiting for developmental projects to be complete. The government of Dominica is fulfilling all the promises it made in the 2019 elections.
