Pollster calls for Michael to stand down as MP
Former minister has already lost cabinet responsibilities
Thursday, 31st May 2018

Barbadian pollster Peter Wickham believes scandal-hit Asot Michael should step down as an MP.
The St Peter parliamentary representative already resigned from his role as minister of investment and trade in the wake of allegations he was involved in bribery. The same scandal is affected St Kitts and Nevis, where the prime minister – just like Asot Micharl – denies any wrongdoing.
Wickham, speaking on the radio, said that leaving his ministerial post was not enough.
“I believe it would be wise for him to spend his time doing something else,” he said.
“Ultimately he cannot be forced to resign and I don’t think he will. My feeling is that he will remain a member of parliament and he will influence and advance whatever cause he wants to serve.
“For me, if I was advising him on an individual basis, I will say why not and try another way, another direction to your life. This politics thing is not going anywhere and I cannot see him... ultimately he wants to get into the cabinet and I think Prime Minister [Gaston] Browne has finished with him.
Last year, Michael was arrested when he flew into London.Latest
