Police raid leads to haul of guns, ammo and drugs
Police warn criminals of extra measures during carnival season

Three modified flare guns, one Beretta pistol, two imitation shotguns were among items seized by police in Antigua during an early morning raid in the Grays Farm area on Friday.
Acting on intelligence, members of the Rapid Response Unit, Special Services Unit, CID and K-9 Unit executed a search warrant on the property of Darren Roberts, also known as “Danger”, of Buckley’s Street, Green Bay.
Officers found guns, a police bulletproof vest, several rounds of ammunition, eight cannabis plants and a some cured cannabis.
The items were seized and taken to the police station. Both Roberts and his girlfriend, 30-year-old Tamara Blackstock, are in police custody.
On the same day, two separate search warrants were executed on the properties of Dorian Marshall and Jason Millet of Donavans.
Cannabis was found on the property of Millet, but nothing illegal was found with Marshall.
Heightened crime fighting
Both Marshall and Millet were taken into custody for questioning in connection with several ongoing investigations, covering aggravated robberies, shootings, kidnappings.
Additionally, officers attached to Liberta police station carried out a stop and search exercise in Liberta.
The operation led to 24 traffic tickets issued for varying traffic violations.
Over 50 vehicles were searched, some of which the drivers were asked to remove excessively dark tints. Two vehicles were impounded for unlicensed purposes.
“The general public can be assured that these types of crime fighting measures will continue, and in some cases be heightened throughout the entire carnival season and beyond,” police said in a statement.
“Likewise, residents, visitors and owners and operators of businesses are urged to become more vigilant during the carnival season.”
