PM Pierre handover eleven vehicles to St Lucia's Police force
St Lucia's Prime Minister Philip J Pierre handover eleven vehicles to the Royal St Lucia Police Force to uplift the force and assist citizen security. The government spent a total of 1.06 million dollars on buying cars for the police.

While addressing the people in the handover ceremony, PM Pierre said, "I want you to take this handover, this 1.6 million dollars that the Government has spent is not a favour, it's the Government's commitment to you, so that you, in turn, could improve the conditions, can improve the quality of life in this country, and the quality of life depends on how safe people are".

He further reiterated that this is not the beginning of the improvement of work conditions for the police, and they will get more vehicles once the step has been correctly applied.

Outlining the significance of more donation of vehicles to the police, PM Pierre asserted," I know you deserve more vehicles, and that's why I was speaking to the police this week, and I said to them the matter of fighting crime and the work of police officers ought to be not only a duty but a vocation".

He underscored that he was also a member of the police force when criminal activity in the country was reduced to zero. "Zero a legacy that anyone can tell their children, and I was part of it. I caused St Lucia t6o to be a safer place, and I caused people of St Lucia to work and live and make our country one of the best places to work and live in the world", the prime minister said.

While emphasizing the responsibility of the police force, PM Pierre expressed that the police force must be looked upon as a job, and it must be like the point as if something that you do take the government ultimately prime minister look good a and when most of you swill is there I will not be prime minister because you security of tenor, I have no security of tenor as people decide my faith every five years.

He further informed about other projects related to the police department and noted that the government is going to commence construction of the grocery police station and the construction time will be a little less than 18 months and in the coming times the country will be opening brand new police quarters in the town of Graxiely if not at the end of 2022 or in the first quarter of 2023.

PM Pierre highlighted that the government has also finalised the agreements with Libro to repair the Vieux Fort Police Station, and they are also ready to commence work on the viewport or the southern headquarters of the police force.
