Mutryce Williams appointed as St Kitts and Nevis' New Permanent Representative to UN
Dr Williams, a National Security and International Relations Specialist, presented her credentials to António Guterres, UN Secretary-General, during a brief and significant ceremony at the UN Headquarters in New York, U.S.A, on Monday, January 15, 2024, marking an important milestone in her illustrious career.

Dr Mutryce Williams has been officially announced St Kitts and Nevis' new Permanent Representative to the United Nations for the Federation.
Williams - A National Security and International Relations Specialist, presented her credentials to António Guterres, UN Secretary-General, during a brief and significant ceremony at the UN Headquarters in New York, U.S.A, on Monday. The appointment has marked an important milestone in her illustrious career.

Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley also attended the event in the USA. He congratulated the daughter of the soil and remarked, "I was honoured to attend the installation of Her Excellency Mutryce Williams and congratulated her on her new accession as the new Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) for St Kitts and Nevis." He added that everyone is assured of her capabilities to effectively advocate for the country's interest and uphold its values in the global arena.

The journey of Dr Williams to this remarkable position has been marked by a series of significant contributions and achievements.Earlier, she was a civil servant and served across several ministries within the Government of St Kitts and Nevis. Her positions have ranged from a Business and Marketing Specialist at the St Kitts Sugar Manufacturing Transition Management Team to being the National Coordinator for the UNESCO Youth Poverty Alleviation through Heritage and Tourism Project.
The young female is popular for her academic prowess and has a Doctorate in Public Policy Administration, which she completed at Walden University.
Her political journey is also very impressive as she has served as a revered professor of politics and was a seasoned political strategist. Williams also contributed her services as the Senior Political Advisor to Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew.Deputy PM Hanley has congratulated her on behalf of the whole nation. He said, "I wish Dr. Williams God's wisdom and grace. On behalf of the Government and People of St. Kitts and Nevis, I wish her every success and thank all serving our nation in their respective capacities."
In addition to this, Dr Williams is also passionate about being a community advocate and also works as a women's rights activist and cultural preservationist.
The Government and citizens of the federation have also extended heartfelt gratitude to former Ambassador Nerys Dockery, who served the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis from October 2022 until late 2023.
