A 23-year-old well-known female from Jamaica, Shanae Smith, was shot and killed by her boyfriend in Lithonia, Georgia, inside her home. Police have labelled the incident as domestic violence and confirmed that the victim was pursuing her higher studies in the US.

The deceased is also known by the name Nae Nae and is a former student of Old Harbour High School in St Catherine, Jamaica.
The details of this incident are still not clear, but the DeKalb County police confirmed that this shooting incident occurred on Fields Drive and Chupp Lane in Lithonia before 3 pm on Saturday. The officials revealed that they were called on the incident after neighbours heard a single gunshot following which the woman was said to be hospitalised in a critical condition. A few hours later, the officials reported that Shanae Smith succumbed to her injuries.
It is also to be noted that Smith was living in Lithonia with her boyfriend, with whom she ended the relationship, but the suspect continued to bother her, which led the police to believe that it was a case of domestic abuse.Meanwhile, the friends of Smith are expressing their condolences and sadness over this tragic news and are also urging the US officials to immediately find the suspect.
“So sad right down the street from me. I’m so tired of the violence and killings in this area. It’s only been just over a year since my brother was murdered just a few neighbourhoods over. I can’t wait to get out of this area,” wrote a user named Crystal McBride, while another user said, “Sorry, my dear, about ur demise. Condolences to the family.”Latest
