Jamaica: 56-year-old found dead with multiple gunshots, police launches investigation

Jamaica: The police officials in Claremont, St Ann, are investigating a shooting incident which claimed the life of a 56-year-old man. According to the reports, the man has been identified as Alcan Rose, also known as Bax and Badness. The preliminary investigations revealed that the incident took place on Sunday night, and the victim, who was a labourer, was found on Easter morning around 7:30 am. The police added that the residents near the Fesco Service Station in Golden Grove heard multiple explosions which sounded like gunshots.

In the morning, they found the lifeless body of Rose, which was covered with blood. The reisdents immediately called the police officials of Clarmont region who upon arrival, found the victim lying on his back with what seemed to be several gunshot wounds over the head and chest area.

The police added that the victim was wearing a T-shirt, a pair of floral shorts, along with shoes when he was found dead. The police took him to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where his body is awaiting a post-mortem examination.

The officials have also launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the death and find the suspects.

Meanwhile, the citizens and residents of Jamaica are expressing concerns over the rising gun violence in Jamaica, with several lamenting that the carelessness of government and police officials is the cause behind these incidents.

“No end to this gun crime in Jamaica,” said a citizen named Anthony Mccarthy, while another user said, “Some of these police are big cowards, they need more training. We need justice.”

With the rising crime incidents in the Caribbean nation of Jamaica, it is being anticipated that the tourism product will get affected in the near future because of security risks. The authorities are not taking any strict measures, leading to the criminals being in the open air and cause more criminal activity.
