Ivor Stephenson is ‘receiving best possible care’ – Dominica minister

Grand Fond MP Ivor Stephenson is still in Martinique and receiving the best care possible for a speedy recovery, the minister for health has said.
Stephenson was hospitalised at the end of May after feeling unwell.Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit confirmed that he was taken from Princess Margaret Hospital he was flown to Martinique for further examination and treatment.
Specific details of his condition have not been released.
Kenneth Darroux, minister for health, reassured his constituents that Stephenson is getting the attention he needs.
“[The] government will do all that we can do to ensure that Honourable Stephenson’s journey to recovery, that he gets the best chance to a speedy and full recovery.”
Government colleagues have “been in constant touch with the authorities in Martinique” to check on the MP, Darroux added
“He is in stable condition which is good news. His condition hasn’t deteriorated which is also good news.
“Of course, he’s being stabilised pending further tests so the doctors can of course give us a prognosis. Prognosis meaning as to what are the expected outcomes of his medical condition.”
