Indian ambassador to the Caribbean vists Sint Eustatius
Potential projects between India and the Dutch Kingdom discussed
This week saw St Eustatius host a delegations left by Rahul Shrivastava, the ambassador for India to Venezuela and the Caribbean islands.
Shrivastava, alongside Pardeep Kumar and G Surender Reddy, held talks with Commissioners Charles A Woodley and Derrick U Simmons after a courtesy meeting with acting Island Governor Julian Woodley.
As part of their visit, the group visited STUCO, NuStar and the harbour area, as well as being treated to a historical tour.
The ambassador expressed the interest of the government of India to strengthen and further develop the friendship and the good relations between India and the Dutch Kingdom, and St Eustatius in particular.
Both parties discussed possible projects in St Eustatius that could be helped with assistance from India, whether that was from its vast resources of expertise.
“Ideas and contact information were exchanged, and the commissioners were invited to visit the ambassador in Venezuela to continue the discussions at a later date,” according to a press release from Simmons’ office.
