Grenada launches Carriacou Carnival Cooldown to offer post-SpiceMas relaxation

Grenada: The Tourism Authority of Grenada has collaborated with the authorities of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs to launch a new initiative named Carriacou Carnival Cooldown. This event will be held from August 14 to 18, 2024.

This is a new marketing campaign which is strived at encouraging revelers to travel to Carriacou and Petite Martinique to rest and rejuvenate after SpiceMas Carnival 2024. The visitors are invited to enjoy the beautiful Grenadine beaches, sunbathe on Sandy Island, or explore the new underwater sculpture park, which will installed in July on the Jack-A-Dan island.

The Carriacou Carnival Cooldown strived to drive a new tradition which will follow the annual SpiceMas celebration going forward. It will begin on Wednesday after carnival and will continue until the weekend.

The Minister of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Tevin Andrews said that this campaign is an amazing opportunity to showcase the unique charm and tranquillity of the sister isles and he is excited to welcome visitors to experience the pristine beaches, vibrant cultures as well as the warm hospitality of the locals.

He further added that Carriacou and Petite Martinique have a lot to offer to the guests and he personally finds them to be the most beautiful parts of the country and they deserve a huge place in the destination marketing.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the SpiceMas Corporation Kirt Ross noted that SpiceMas is the largest cultural event in Grenada and attracts a huge number of regional and international visitors. She added that it is a major event and brings huge cultural pride and economic benefits to the country.

Ross stated that the Carnival Cooldown will allow guests to extend their stay and explore the serene beauty of Carriacou and Petite Martinique making the visit even more comfortable.

The Carnival Cooldown is being anticipated as a perfect extension of the tourism offerings which will highlight the diverse experiences available in Grenada, Carriacou as well as Petite Martinique while promoting the practices of sustainable tourism.
