Two men gunned down in St Kitts double murder

St Kitts and Nevis has now recorded 13 murders this year

Investigators from St Kitts and Nevis police’s Violent Crimes Unit are looking into an incident that left two young men dead.

Shots were fired just before 10pm last night in Taylor’s Village, St Kitts.

The victims have been named as Sean Smith, 41 and a resident of Taylor's Village, and Lower Westbourne Street resident Dennis Liburd, 46.

One of the men died at the scene, while the other died later while undergoing treatment at hospital – although WIC News has been unable to confirm the specific details.

Up to 13 homicides

According to the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force: “The victims were shot by an unknown assailant(s) while entering the yard of the injured victim [who later died].

Both men were taken to the Joseph N France Hospital, police added.

This latest murder comes just a day after 37-year-old Lydia Jacobs was shot outside of her home in Church Ground, Nevis.

The federation has now recorded 13 murders in 2017 – seven on St Kitts, and six on Nevis.
