Dominica’s Jazz and Creole festival is about to commence
On May 1, 2022, Dominicans will witness the festival's first hosting since the pandemic's onset. The Discover Dominica Authority has hosted several press conferences leading up to the launch of the main event.

On May 1, 2022, Dominicans will witness the festival's first hosting since the pandemic's onset. The Discover Dominica Authority has hosted several press conferences leading up to the launch of the main event.
Jazz and Creole will welcome Teddyson John of St Lucia Femme Four to the main stage out of Dominica, comprising Starsha, Masha, Shalina and Tasha P, JSJ out of Guadeloupe Breve, a local band, Dominica’s Princess of Song Michele Henderson and Freetown Collective of Trinidad and Tobago.This year, several fringe events were also incorporated into the Jazz and Creole calendar. Destination Marketing Manager, Ms Kimberly king, spoke about some of the fringe activities on offer.
“Jazz and Spas in Wotten Waven on Thursday, where you will be treated to a delightful hot spa experience; on Friday, Jazz and Cocktails at the Alliance Francaise, Jazz and the Shoreline at Ford Young Hotel, and on Saturday, Jazz and Creole Cuisine featuring Breve at Kempinski Resort and Spa and so much,” King listed.
Meanwhile, Jazz and Creole will welcome new initiatives to the main stage this year. Festivals and Events Manager Samantha Letang highlights a few of the activities to expect at this year’s edition.
“For the first time on the Jazz and Creole stage, we will be having ‘spoken word’ and with that will also come to a live painting demonstration. We will also experience the vibrance of the Waitikubuli Dance Theatre Company and the Paix Bouche Drummers. We also include this year a very interesting segment where we will have a Fashion Segment which I know both ladies and men will be wowed at. The host for Jazz and Creole 2022 is Miguel Labadie and Kaywana Fontaine-Wilson,” Le-tang announced.Latest
