The first phase of the new Dominica-China friendship hospital will open its doors for the people on September 6. The main motive behind opening the hospital is to provide advanced healthcare facilities to the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica.

During a town hall meeting in the Mahaut constituency “We are grateful and happy to announce that on 6th of September, you the people of Dominica will start benefiting from its new Dominica-China friendship hospital and that hospital will have all the amenities and the top-notch equipment that you will need here in Dominica to provide better medical facilities to us.”

Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit Minister also asserted that some people pointed fingers on them asking to publicize the MoU signed between the governments of Dominica and China, even they criticized the Chinese government but on September 6, any one of us who fall sick in Dominica requires MRI, but no one will have to go anywhere else but the Dominica-China friendship hospital.

Government has also promised to provide free medical facilities to people above the age of 60 and children below the age of 18.
Prime Minister had said “To my seniors, 60 and older and children 18 and under will continue to enjoy the free aid at the hospital. If granny who is 75 years old fall sick and to find out what happened to her, she will put on the MRI machine, all she has to say is thank you very much, that’s it, no bills to you, the government of Dominica and Dominica Labour Party is taking care of the people of Dominica,” said Prime Minister.
