But, according to a recent revelation, Apple has profited more than $6 billion by not including chargers in the in iphone boxes.
According to dailymail.co.uk, Apple could have saved $6 billion by selling over 190 million iPhones over the world. These savings are attributable to the removal of chargers and earbuds from the package, as well as lower shipping costs due to the smaller box. According to the report, an Apple spokeswoman stated that "reducing the materials used in our products and packaging is one of the milestones along our road (to become carbon neutral for our whole supply chain)."While the manufacturing cost of a power adapter isn't high for a firm that sells its devices for more than $1,000, multiplying the cost of one charger by the millions of cellphones sold by the company becomes enormous.
Second, by eliminating the charger from the iPhone box, Apple has lowered the size of the box, which saves the firm money by reducing the amount of paper and cardboard used. The iPhone earphones are also no longer included in the retail box.
Smaller iPhone boxes are easier to ship, and the manufacturer can fit more into some containers. This makes it easy for Apple to transport large quantities of iPhones to markets all over the world. It also lowers the cost of one iPhone's effective transportation.
Finally, those who acquire an iPhone but do not have an actual Apple charger may have to pay $19 for a new one (price for the 20W USB-C power adapter, according to the official website). Applying the entire production cost to profit idea to this situation explains Apple's benefits.
