Punjab Director General of Police (DGP), Dinkar Gupta, has expressed shock and outrage over his statements delivered at the Indian Express Ideas Exchange event on February 20, being misinterpreted or being willfully misunderstood.

In a recent statement issued, DGP Dinkar Gupta stated, “I rejoiced at the inauguration of the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor which has filled the decades-old hopes of millions of devotees like myself all over the globe who declare their belief in Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his divine teachings.

Their daily ardas for ‘khulle darshan-deedaar’ of sacred shrines that remain in post-Partition Pakistan, was ultimately acknowledged. It was an element of even more absolute delights that it coincided with the 550th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji”.
