PM Harris announces $26M upgrade for hospital’s service & infrastructure

Prime Minister Harris made the remark during a press conference at the NEMA Headquarters Conference Room on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
Prime Minister said that this investment would be significant and will help in the improvement of around 12 services, including pathology, medical stores, kitchens, laundries, lecture halls, etc.
PM Harris said, “2022 shall commence the build-out of Phase 3 of the JNF General Hospital. This will be a significant investment of over $26 million which will result in improvement in 12 service areas at the hospital, including pathology, laboratory, a new psychiatric wing, a new central sterilization unit, central medical stores, kitchen, cafeteria, laundry, conference as well as lecture halls.”He further mentioned that this investment would also contribute towards the recruitment of medical specialists, which would enhance the quality of health care.
He added, “The addition to these brand new facilities plus the recruitment of medical specialists (cardiologist, cardiology technicians, Cath Lab Nurses, Cath Lab technicians and MRI technologies) will lead to a significant enhancement in the quality of health care and improved conditions of work for all employees”.https://twitter.com/pmharriskn/status/1491899017437003782
Just a day before, on February 10, PM, Harris announced that two significant advantages by St Kitts and Nevis government would be extended. The announcement was made during his first media conference of 2022. PM revealed that the COVID-19 income support programme for jobless people and disadvantaged workers and the Fuel Subsidy programme for the passenger bus operators had been extended.
He further added that the government issued the first round of fuel subsidy payments for this year to around 104 owners, who were eligible on February 3.Latest
