Joe Biden to roll back on Trump's most controversial decisions

In his first hours as president, Joe Biden plans to take the executive action to roll back some of his predecessor's most controversial decisions and address the raging coronavirus pandemic, his incoming chief of staff said Saturday.

The opening salvo would announce a 10-day blitz of executive actions as Biden tries to swiftly redirect the country in the wake of Donald Trump's presidency that too without waiting for Congress.

On Wednesday, following the inauguration, Biden will end Trump's restriction imposed on migration to the US from some Muslim-majority countries, moved to rejoin the Paris climate agreement, and order mask-wearing on federal property and during interstate travel.

These are among roughly a dozen people Biden will get on his first day in the White House, his incoming chief of staff, Ron Klain, told in a memo to senior staff.

Other actions include increasing the pause on student loan payments and actions meant to prevent evictions and foreclosures for those fighting during the pandemic.

"These executive actions will also deliver relief to the millions of Americans that are fighting in the face of these crises," Klain said in the memo. "President-elect Biden will take action — not just intending to reverse the gravest damages of the Trump administration — but also to start moving our roots forward."

"Full achievement" of Biden's goals are requiring Congress to act, Klain wrote, including the $1.9 trillion microorganism relief bill he outlined on Thursday. Klain said that Biden would propose a broad immigration reform bill to lawmakers on his first day in office.

According to people who decreased on his plans, providing a path to citizenship for millions of foreigners in the US illegally will be part of Biden's plan.
