17 killed in India's Tamil Nadu after wall collapse from heavy rains
As many as 17 people from four families got buried alive in Tamil Nadu, the south Indian state after a massive wall collapse on their homes while they were sleeping on Monday.

As many as 17 people from four families got buried alive in Tamil Nadu, the south Indian state after a massive wall collapse on their homes while they were sleeping on Monday.
Two children are also included amongst the dead in Nadur village in Thanjavur district.
Around 20 feet high wall crumbled around 5:30 am.
Rescue operations are ongoing to rescue the trapped people and clear the debris from the compound wall.
India saw its wettest monsoon in a quarter of a century, with the rainy season lasting longer this year, triggering floods and killing hundreds of people.
The meteorological department has issued a red alert in six Tamil Nadu districts on Sunday and warned fisherman to avoid going to sea due to cyclonic storms.
Chennai's Madras University and Anna University postponed all their examinations scheduled for Monday due to continuous rain over the past few days.
