Wisconsin: Police arrests man for filming 524 naked individuals by hidden camera in coffee cup at gym

A 33-year-old man hid a camera in a coffee cup which filmed at least 524 naked individuals while they were changing their clothes inside the changing rooms of a gym. The incident was reported in the Wisconsin state of in the United States of America. People got aware of the happening after Wisconsin Athletic Club discovered the hidden camera and reported about the incident, following which Peng Dong, the accused, was detained by the police authorities. During the interrogation, the accused claimed that he placed the camera to catch the individual he says was stealing his belongings. Meanwhile, the criminal complaint states that when the accused was asked if he had recorded the naked individuals, to which Dong replied with a laugh, saying, "very certain I had". Dong then said he was not at all aware that by recording people, he was violating and breaking the law. Part of the probing, when the police officers went through and inspected the video coverage, at least 524 victims were there, among which nine (9) were youngsters lesser than the age of 10 years. The police informed that a few of the recordings even traced back to the year 2019. The accused has been charged with 15 felonies. Among these counts, 11 are associated with the Wauwatosa location and the rest 4 with the Glendale location of the gym. Wisconsin Athletic Club issued a statement on the incident, saying, "The Wisconsin Athletic Club takes the security of their members very seriously. It is clearly displayed in our clubs that the utilization of a video is strictly prohibited in our locker rooms & is subject to state as well as local law. We are saddened that the incident took place & our club have a zero-tolerance policy for these actions and misconduct". The charges were filed on March 2, followed by issuing of a warrant of detention of the accused.
