Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Dr Keith Rowley is currently isolating after he came in contact with a possible coronavirus positive person. As per reports, while PM tested negative for COVID-19, he is still quarantined due to the protocols.
The office of the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago said that he had been identified as a primary contact of a coronavirus patient. Officials stated that another test would be carried out this week to know the status.
Notably, Prime Minister is vaccinated with the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine. He had contracted the virus in April 2021 and was isolated for a long time.
PM coming in contact with a coronavirus patient is working as an alarm for the general public.
Many are now concerned for their own well-being. A social media user named Damian R. Scott wrote," This is a reminder for us to remain vigilant and observe protocols! Vaccination does not grant us immunity, folks, just as a bulletproof vest does not make our entire bodies bulletproof. May you enjoy the rest and relaxation that the isolation brings, Dr Rowley. And may you pass this period without contracting the virus!"
Social media is flooded with best wishes coming in for the Prime Minister from across the country; a user named Margaret Alexander wrote: "Almighty God, we are asking that you take care of our strong prime minister touch him with your powerful hands and let our prayers reach out to him and to his family give them you and the strength oh lord guide him every step of the way and to his colleagues give them the strength also continue Blessing him with doing his Duties Amen"
The Ministry of Health Trinidad and Tobago is also due to carry out a press-conference on Monday morning at 11am to provide COVID-19 update.
