Cruise with Confidence was introduced before the cruise industry shutdown in 2020. It was designed to give guests peace of mind that they can change their plans after the last payment date.
Typically, guests would incur a penalty for cancelling a sail over the last payment date, typically 90 days before a sail starts. Cruise with Confidence offers much more flexibility to change the mind without paying any penalty fee. The Royal Caribbean also declared the extension of the "Best Price Guarantee program" until the end of October. The best price guarantee means you can benefit from better rates up to 48 hours before the sailing date. Usually, guests in certain countries can only cruise Cruises until their last payment date to take advantage of a price drop. Since Royal Caribbean closed the cruise in March 2020, it has offered guests more flexibility to change their minds due to the shifting nature of the news and the global health crisis. Essentially, Cruise with Confidence allows guests to change or cancel a cruise up to 48 hours before the sailing date without penalty or cost.Guests can choose a 100% Future Cruise Credit which is good for 12 months or more. The new changes to the cruise with Confidence are only applicable to guests booked before 31 August 2021 on ships that will depart by April 2022.
The program includes refundable and non-refundable cruise rates and exclusively chartered sails only.
The programme still falls under some limitations; it notes that
It is important to note that if anyone chooses to cancel a cruise with this program, and later Royal Caribbean cancels the sails, the person cannot get any right to a full refund.
