St Lucia Labour Party all set for public meeting at Ciceron today

Castries, St Lucia: St Lucia goes into general elections on July 26, 2021; the opposition St Lucia Labour Party (SLP) is set to make its mark on the public by carrying out public meetings. The SLP announced their public meeting at the Constituency office in Ciceron on July 7, 2021, from 7 pm onwards. Political leader and the Prime Minister face of SLP Philip J Pierre will be addressing the masses. Besides him, party members Ernest Hilaire, Wayne Girad, Jeremiah Norbert and Kenson Casimir will also be communicating to the constituents. "Last night, the Prime Minister announced the date for the General Elections as July 26. The time has arrived. It is our decision whether we want our country to continue as it has done for the last five years or we press the reset button." the St Lucia Labour Party added on their social media accounts.

Furthermore, the opposition stated that the past five years had been a failed experiment under United Workers Party and Prime Minister Allen Chastanet.

"Friends, family and foreigners have been placed before the interest of Saint Lucians. Two-Saint Lucia's have been created with you, the people, placed at the bottom. It is time to start over and build back better.

Vote the Saint Lucia Labour Party." the Labour Party added.

The Prime Minister on Monday evening declared the general elections; he said that the elections were delayed because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The St Lucia Labour Party is keeping its agenda's clear; the party have four major topics that include handling poor handling of COVID-19 pandemic, economic meltdowns, lack of infrastructural development, unemployment and rising prices of fuel, gasoline and cooking gas cylinders.

The Labour Party is also claiming to keep the general public first before themselves; the tagline of the election campaign is based on a similar subject, "Putting You First".
