Party leader and Deputy Prime Minister Shawn Richards declared her candidature after addressing a special party meeting held on Monday.
PAM leader Richards commended Natasha "Shanny" Grey and stated she is a phenomenal community activist, philanthropist and a mother who also understands the struggles of people of her community.
Talking further about Grey's qualities, Shawn Richards stated that she had been involved in politics through her grandmother and aimed to serve the people of the country.
Speaking at the meeting, Natasha "Shanny" Grey stated that it is her lifetime quest to help the people. She said she had been involved in PAM campaigning since she was 19 and assisted East Basseterre candidates Vernon Viera, Glenroy Blanchette and Ian' Patches' Liburd.Attorney Grey's unlikely journey from a humble upbringing to a respected member of the legal fraternity as an Attorney-at-Law augurs well for the PAM party's vision for the future. Her disarming personality and unique ability to engage ordinary citizens while at the same time eloquently represent their interests in the halls of power make Shanny a potent force with whom to be reckoned.
In June 2020 elections, Ian Liburd Patches lost from the East Basseterre constituency, and now for 2025 general elections Natasha "Shanny" Grey will be representing PAM under the "Team Unity".
Many believe that the selection of Attorney Grey to contest the competitive seat of East Basseterre signals a bright and promising future for the People’s Action Movement. It sends a strong message that PAM and St Kitts and Nevis are confident in facing the future with youthful, dynamic, highly accomplished and eloquent advocates of the values that the country represents.
