Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit visits Petit Coulibri Resort & Spa in Soufriere with cabinet

Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit visited the Petit Coulibri Resort & Spa in Soufriere. Cabinet members, including the Minister for Tourism Denise Charles, accompanied the PM during his visit. PM Skerrit stated the luxurious resort is expected to open by December 2021, and it will enhance the hotel dimensions of Dominica. The 9.5 million Petit Coulibri Resort & Spa employed over 450 individuals during construction. It will transform the hospitality industry of Dominica and provide jobs to 791 people once it begins functioning.

Minister Denise Charles, who is also the Soufriere Constituency's Parliamentary Representative, went on to declare that "Dominica has exciting days ahead" and that "this new property would take Dominica's tourism to the next level."

Coulibri Ridge Resort is an intimate eco-resort in Petit Coulibri, Soufriere Constituency, with fourteen large air-conditioned studios and duplex suites in different sizes, ranging from 930 square feet to 1,550 square feet (144 m2).

All of the residential suites feature spacious terraces with spectacular views of Martinique to the south and unique kitchens and furniture. Seven of the fourteen suites feature a separate north-facing balcony with views of the Sulphur Spring Valley, four of which have an outdoor shower garden and three of which have a private pool.

From off-grid alternative power technologies to methods of pure harvesting rainwater, filtered on-site, collected in large underground cisterns, and delivered via energy-efficient systems throughout the resort, the resort was carefully researched and implemented to minimise the impact on the environment. This is consistent with the government's goal of creating the world's first climate-resilient country.
