Respect the privacy of patients positive of COVID-19, urges PM Harris

St Kitts and Nevis have confirmed the first two cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Both patients have a travel history to New York in recent days. The announcement was made by Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Sen the Hon Wendy Phipps.
Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris pleaded to people to respect the privacy of the infected individuals because of COVID-19 in the country. Dr Harris urged the people through his official Facebook handled.
"I urge citizens and residents to take a humanistic approach and respect patient confidentiality and people’s right to privacy #coronavirus #COVID2019." posted PM Harris.
These two are first confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Federation that includes 21-year-old male and a 57-year-old female who returned from New York on March 18 and were tested on March,20.
As per the officials, the positive patients are under quarantine since they arrived in the Federation.
The government does not reveal the names and other identities of the patients, however, people are curious to know in order to testify whether or not they came in contact with the infected people.
As Coronavirus is a contagious disease and spreads from person to person, people must be made aware of the people who have tested positive.
As per officials statistics, COVID-19 which has now become a pandemic, has infected 472,381 people and killed 21,304 people across the globe. After mainland China, Italy and Spain are the worst-hit nations because of Coronavirus.
Nations across the world have announced health emergencies and imposed public curfews to break the chain of the virus because experts believe only social distancing can prevent the disease.
However, circumstances are getting more satisfying in Wuhan, China, from where the virus had started. In past 72-hours no domestic cases of COVID-19 developed in the region and government is projecting to elevate the restrictions on people.
