Late Ambassador Vance Amory's body reaches St Kitts, given military reception
Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris, along with his Cabinet colleagues and other Members of Parliament, reached the RLB International Airport on Wednesday to witness the Military Reception for the body of former Premier of Nevis, Ambassador Vance Winkworth Amory.He was also seen consoling Vernita Amory, wife of the late Ambassador Vance Amory, JP. On Wednesday morning, the body arrived at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport St Kitts on the British Airways plane arrived. The late ambassador's body was covered in the flag of St Kitts and Nevis.

Prime Minister Timothy Harris, Deputy Prime Minister Shawn Richards, and Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley were among those who received the body from the airport.

The body will be laid in state at Courthouse on Friday, 29 April and Saturday, 30 April, then to ETW Park for service. From there, it will be transported to the cemetery in St. George's.

Prime Minister Timothy Harris stated that the service would not exceed 2 hours, giving suggestions; he said that tributes take place before the start of service and the arrival of the casket and family.

Besides this, a meeting will be held with Nevis Christian Council and Archdeacon Isaiah Phillip to provide an order of service.

The country is currently mourning the passing of a famous cricketer, ambassador and former Premier of Nevis Vance Amory, who passed away on 2 April 2022. His sudden death left everyone speechless. As per reports, he was suffering from cancer and was currently receiving treatment in London, the United Kingdom, where he took his last breath. Amory is survived by his wife, two daughters and grandchildren.

He founded and led the Concerned Citizens' Movement and was also one of the founding members of Team Unity. A special sitting of the Nevis Island Assembly (NIA) was hosted on Tuesday to pay tribute to the late Premier.
