Terrance Drew says he supports the freedom of press

St Kitts and Nevis Labour released a statement on "World Press Freedom Day,". The party leader Terrance Drew stated that he commits himself to nurturing a free and fair press environment.
He stated that it is very important to have a free press in order to maintain democracy.
"Today marks the observance of World Press Freedom Day, and so I wish to reassure the public and, by extension, members of the media that I genuinely commit myself towards nurturing a free and fair press environment that fosters the development of dialogue in the Federation of St.Kitts-Nevis and Nevis," said Terrance Drew.
He stated that they also talked about the Workers' International Day (Labour Day/May Day), "I wish to applaud the contributions of all local media workers who are part of the critically important fourth estate of our nation,".
"Additionally, I take this opportunity on this occasion to congratulate the executive committee of the newly reconstituted Media Association of St.Kitts-Nevis," said Terrance Drew.
Despite such challenges which affect journalists on a global scale, I hereby encourage our local media practitioners to remain focused on their roles and responsibilities in carrying out their duties.
