The government of St Kitts and Nevis, under the administration of Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris, handed over 20 homes under the homeownership programme. The units include two-bedroom bungalows and three townhouses. PM Harris himself handed over the keys in Stapleton community of St. Peter's on Friday. "I'm happy to be here today as we give more people a place to be blessed on the already very blessed islands of St Kitts and Nevis. Whenever we asked the people of St Kitts and Nevis to vote for a Team Unity Government, we knew we had to make good on our promise. The most important thing they told us was to build more homes for you, your family, your friends, your loved ones," said PM Harris.
The Prime Minister said that not only is his government building more homes for the people, but it is also making sure that the homes are bigger than those built by the previous government.
"Today, we are delivering homes that range in size from 876 square feet on a two-bedroom home to 1,651 to 1,800 square feet on a three-bedroom home".
Furthermore, PM said he is grateful to see the smiles on the people after receiving keys to new homes, "Wonderful to see the joy expressed by those families who received the keys to their brand new homes in St Peters".
