Dawood Ibrahim does not hold Dominican passport, declares government
The government of Commonwealth of Dominica on Saturday released a press statement denying allegations of terrorist Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar holding Dominican citizenship or passport.

The statement comes after Pakistan released a list of UN-designated terrorists and entities who will be subject to "assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo" as per the United Nations Security Council resolution.
The government of Dominica declared that wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar is "not, nor has he ever been, a citizen of the Commonwealth of Dominica, neither through the Citizenship by Investment Programme nor any other means."The government statement included that any publication or media house making these claims are false.
Furthermore, the government statement included that it is the responsibility of the Citizenship by Investment Programme of Dominica to safeguard the integrity of its programme, and no citizenship is guaranteed without absolute due-diligence on applicants.
Besides this, the government added that multi-tiered system of due-diligence checks involves internal and external thorough checks by reputable due-diligence firms based in the United States of America and the United Kingdom who makes checks on ground searches and then a produce a comprehensive due diligence report.
The government asserted that it aims to protect not only the country but also the security of its international allies is significant.
The economic citizenship programme of Commonwealth of Dominica allows foreigners to become citizens for a certain amount of investment in the country. However, the applicants are granted citizenship only after thorough due diligence checks.
The Fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is the mastermind of 1993 Mumbai blasts mastermind and has been hiding since then. The Indian intelligence has been claiming for his presence in Pakistan.
Pakistan recently publicized a list proscribing 88 terrorists under the United Nations Sanction Resolution, included Dawood, who according to Pakistan is residing Karachi.
