Shantol Jackson, a Jamaican actress, has been nominated for the 2022 TV Choice Awards for her work in the first season of 'Death in Paradise.' Jackson joins a long succession of women who have played Naomi Thomas, an ambitious young sergeant, including Simone Ashley for Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan for Bridgerton, and Lily James for The Pursuit of Love.

The former model is most recognised for her roles in Storm Saulter's Sprinter and Idris Elba's Yardie.

Death in Paradise, which was shot on Guadeloupe in the French Caribbean, is broadcast on BBC One in the United Kingdom, France 2, PBS and Britbox in the United States and Canada, Prime in New Zealand, and ABC in Australia. There are also two Best Actor nominees for the series, as well as a Best Drama contender.

The TV Choice Awards nominees will be reduced down through an online public voting procedure that finishes on Friday, June 24.

The official TV Choice Awards 2022 Shortlist will be announced in August, with the live event taking place on Monday, November 14 at the London Hilton on Park Lane in the United Kingdom. The event will be broadcast live for the first time in the last two years.

The popular and long-running TV Choice Awards honour the nation's favourite TV shows and entertainers, based solely on reader and viewer votes.
