The Criminal Records Office, under the Jamaica Constabulary Force, has recently been updated digitally. At this achievement, the Jamaica Constabulary Force stated that as the force undergoes a dynamically transforming process, it is going to launch a new feature to make it more convenient for the public.
According to a report by JCF the criminal records office is responsible for producing police records and keeping a track of it. Since sometime, it has started to digitize its work in small pockets, and now with addition of the new features, it will expand its Police Certificate Application Management System to its subsidiary branches at Pampano Bay, St Mary, St James, May Pen and Clarendon. The facility of applying any application in-person has been discontinued after the dates of 25th March 2024. The Criminal Record Office has introduced the feature of applying an application online through the official site of JCF which will be followed by paying the applicable fees to the Tax Administration and uploading the required documents including a government issued identification document.
Following the completion of the application, applicants will be guided further through an email from the JCF, and then applicants need to bring a coloured print of their application with the same photos and documents on the day of the appointment.
During this time of transition from manual mediums to most of the procedures being facilitated online, it is expected that the users will have query regarding the overall process before they get used to it, in case such a situation occurs respective helpline numbers have been released.
The helpline numbers have been listed on the official website of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, which is' www.jcf.gov.jm'. Jamaica Constabulary Force expressed their hope regarding the transition, stating that they encourage citizens to use these online features more and more to avail services at the ease of their home. The force has encouraged people to follow its social handles to remain updated with any upcoming updates.
