Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on Thursday, visited the Champagne beach and toured the ongoing projects.

Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on Thursday, visited the Champagne beach and toured the ongoing projects.
Sharing details of projects, Prime Minister Skerrit stated that the Ministry of Tourism is preparing to build a new reception facility to improve the visitor experience at Champagne Beach.
He was joined by the Tourism Minister and Parliamentary Representative for the Soufriere Constituency- Denise Charles, Minister with responsibility for the Environment- Cozier Frederick, Dr Irving McIntyre, including several other senior ministry officials, and members of the community.

Prime Minister stated he was pleased to note the project's progress and make some further recommendations.
Champagne Beach was named "Champagne Beach" because gas bubbles regularly emerge from the volcanic seafloor, creating beautiful underwater magnificence. Its mix of crystal clear water and abundant marine life makes it ideal for snorkelling and diving. The beach itself is rocky, with patches of black volcanic sand.
