10 more climate-resilient handed over by PM Roosevelt Skerrit in Cochrane Village
The government of Dominica handed over ten additional climate-resilient homes to the residents of Cochrane Village.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit stated that the government understands the housing requirements of Dominicans, believes that poverty can be eliminated through housing.
He stated that the Dominica Labour Party government also have biblical responsibilities to provide housing requirements for Dominicans who were displaced by natural catastrophes."Once you have decent accommodation with access to the amenities, like water and light, your standard of living automatically improves. As part of human nature and in the animal kingdom, the pre-occupation is to find shelter," stated PM Skerrit.
Prime Minister stated that with hand-over ten homes in the Cochrane village, there are now ten fewer families in a vulnerable state. He stated that the current DLP government is "uncompromising" and "unapologetic" in the quest of making lives better for people.
He stated that investment in the "Housing Dominica" is worth it because human lives are more precious than anything else. Prime Minister also recalled the old days of Cochrane Village when the roads were in miserable conditions, and it was hard to walk around the area. He said that there had been a great development in the village of the DLP government.
He said with the government's recent investments in the village; the prices have properties have dramatically. He said the demand is increasing in the Cochrane village because it is close to town and is extremely beautiful and peaceful.Prime Minister stated that the housing units are an investment into the people, which they can also pass on to the generations to come.
"It is not just a shelter; it is the thing that you can write in your will for your children," stated PM Skerrit.
