Dominica to adopt Digital Economy for future benefits

Government of Commonwealth of Dominica held a press briefing on Monday regarding the adoption of digital economy intending to digitize the island nation for future benefits.
Senator Cassanni Laville who is also the Minister of for Public Works, has been appointed as the Minister of Digital Economy as well.
Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit stated that the government is seeking a loan of US 20 million dollars from the world bank to achieve its goals of dynamic Dominica.
"We have been in an engagement with the World Bank to seek their assistance in providing technical and financial resources in order to fasten the plan of Digital Economy."
As per the government of Dominica appropriation of Digital Economy would unleash the social and economic benefits. Digitally transformed Dominica will provide convenience to people within the nation as well as those living abroad, the government also states that this initiative would reduce the time and cost of doing business.
Prime Minister stated that if the government succeeds in implementing this strategy, then there would be several benefits to the country.
"It would make our country more efficient, more attractive to foreign direct investment. This would create better paid for youngsters, and it will also improve the efficiency of how the government conducts business."
In addition to that, Dr Skerrit stated that this approach would also make Dominica's economy bit more resilient because once the infrastructure is in place, the nation can continue to engage itself self in critical activities.
With humour, Prime Minister stated that he has no problem with people who are 45 or older, but he wants critical and innovative thinkers to be part of it, and one of the qualifications that are required is that the person has to be 35 years old or younger.
" I am looking for some bright young people to help the government drive the very important policies and programmes," added PM Skerrit.
