St Kitts and Nevis: Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley welcomed the resumption of Windward Islands Airways International (Winair) Airline in Nevis. The airline's inaugural flight arrived on Friday with hundreds of passengers. Premier Brantley shared the glimpses of the flight on his official Facebook account and said, "Winair is back!!!! Praise be to God! We are Growing Nevis Together."

He appreciated the airline for expanding its regional connectivity throughout the Caribbean.

"Winair is back in Nevis with same-day connections through St Maarten to Miami, New York, Toronto, Panama, Amsterdam, Paris, Trinidad, Dominica, Antigua, St Barths, St Eustatius, Saba and Tortola," outlined Premier Brantley.

According to the latest schedule of the flight, the airline will fly on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

On Friday, the airline will fly from Sint Maarten at 18:20 and will arrive in Nevis at 18:55, while on Saturday, it will fly from Nevis at 0800 and will arrive in Sint Maarten at 08:40, with the return flight departing at 18:20 and arriving at 18:55.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the airline will leave the island of Nevis at 18 00 and will arrive in Sint Maarten at 08 40, with the return flight departing at 18 20 and arriving in Nevis at 18 55. On Monday, there will be a single flight from Nevis that will leave at 08 00 and arrive in Sint Maarten at 08 40.

In addition to this, the airline services are all prepared to expand its horizon of regional connectivity by launching new routes for direct flights to Martinique. The new flight routes facilitating expansion is about to come in action from April 1st 2024.

The airline released an official statement citing that these flights will connect Martinique (FDF) to Sint Maarten(SXM) and Dominica(DOM) and vice versa. This expansion and connectivity of flights will ensure convenience during travels in both business and leisure domains.

Travelers from Martinique will be able to commute to various destinations in the Caribbean region only with a single stop at Princess Juliana International Airport at St Maarten. These hassle free and well connected traveling routes will ensure rise in tourism as well as encourage more business related travels ensuring long distance business deals.

As per the statement of CEO of Windward Islands Airways International aka Winair Hans van de Velde "the airlines is very happy with this new connection, the opened route is important for the inhabitants of the French part of St Marteen and St Barths and will connect three French destination seamlessly and comfortably with their modern ATR aircraft".

The airline services connects Martinique to Antigua, St Barth, St Kitts, the British Virgin Islands, New York ,Toronto, Panama, Amsterdam, Paris and other few destinations in United States and Canada in the same day easing up travel to these destinations.

The new Schedule, starting on April 1st, will be as follows:
  • Wednesdays and Sundays: SXM- FDF(16:30-17:45), FDF-DOM(18:15-19:00)
  • Thursdays and Mondays :DOM- FDF(7:30- 08:15), FDF-SXM (8:45- 10:00)

This connectivity expansion will definitely bring growth in the economy by encouraging business and tourism sectors.
