Antigua and Barbuda: The police officials in Antigua and Barbuda are investigating the sudden death of a three-year-old who was found lifeless in a swimming pool.
The victim has been identified as Zyonandon Collin Hope, who is a national of the United States and arrived in the country with his mother two weeks ago. The incident took place on Sunday morning in Briggins.
The police reported that it is not yet clear what led the toddler to the swimming pool, which is why they are still investigating the incident.
According to the sources, the family of the toddler found him floating in a swimming pool with his face down sometimes after 8 am.
It was further said upon discovery that the family of Zyonandon acted swiftly and pulled him from the water, after which they alerted the Emergency Medical Services.
The boy was administered C.P.R. at the scene before he was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center in Antigua. The officials said that various attempts were made by the medical professionals to save the child but he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at 8:37 am.
The child and his mother had recently arrived in Antigua and Barbuda from the United States to meet their family here.
The police officials in the country are deeply saddened by the tragic loss and have expressed their condolences to the family.
Meanwhile, social media outlets are also expressing their condolences for this heartbreaking incident.
“Condolences to the Hope family; this is so heartbreaking. Please accept my sympathy, and I pray you find some comfort and peace during this time..... R.I.P. Zy,” wrote a user named Diana Flowers, while another user blamed the family and said, “How can you leave a toddler unattended near a pool is beyond me, rest in paradise, little one.”
“My condolences to my family Leah my heart and prayers are with you god know am speechless just be strong,” said another named Dira.
