Hurricane Maria left a swathe of destruction across the Caribbean in September.

Dominica was among the hardest hit. The tiny island was struck with 160mph winds as the category five hurricane made landfall overnight on 18 September.

The death toll is currently 27. During last official update from the government it was revealed that a number of people were still missing but no revised figure has yet been released.

Channel 4, a British public service broadcaster, followed one mother who lives in the UK as she returned to Dominica to find out what happened to her family and her toddler, who was staying with his grandmother.

Thom Walker travelled to Dominica with Londoner Ginna Andrew to her village, Soufriere, in the south of the island.
