Vehicle struck solid culvert injuring 2 during Carnival Monday in Trinidad
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Two people were seriously injured in the Barrackpore on Carnival Monday while driving a Toyota Corolla.

It is to be noted that the victims were recognised as a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman. They are a resident of Barrackpore near the Rochard Road.
According to the police statement, it is believed that the incident occurred at around 2:30 pm. During the time, duo was in a Toyota Corolla car and they were leading to the south along Rochard Road.
They tried to take a turn from the right bend and suddenly the driver lost his control over the car. The vehicle struck a solid culvert. In due course of time, they hit onto a steel pole on the eastern side of the roadway.
The people around the scene immediately reported the matter to the police and the officers responded to the anonymous call and went on the accident site.Upon reaching, they observed both the persons lying motionless on the ground and sustained multiple injuries. If sources are to be believed, it has been said that the police and emergency health services took the duo to the San Fernando General Hospital.
The treatment is ongoing for both the victims and further investigations are continued by Cpl Khan of the Barrackpore Police division. The investigating officers urged people to exercise caution while driving at the crowded places especially during the Carnival festivities.
Additionally, the carnival celebrations were held in various parts of T&T, including Mayaro, Arima, Sangre Grande, San Fernando, Tunapuna and Port-of-Spain among other areas.
Police officials in Trinidad and Tobago have deemed the J’ouvert celebrations a massive success, citing the fact that no law-and-order issues cropped up during the events. Moreover, the police department ensured the safety of citizens during the festivities by installing CCTV cameras on every street. Noting this, the safety exercises were spearheaded by ACP Kelvern Thompson, supported by Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and T&T Municipal Police Service.Latest
