Total 119 active COVID-19 cases in St Lucia as two more tests positive

CMO Dr Sharon stated there are 119 active coronavirus cases in the country and all of them are quarantined and are doing well.

Saint Lucia Wednesday reported three new cases of COVID-19, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Sharon Belmar-George announced. She added that these three patients have been identified during contact tracing of 95 individuals and 92 tested negative.

The recent cases bring the total number of coronavirus cases diagnosed in Saint Lucia to date to 262.

As per Dr Sharon, all these recently positive patients are immediately shifted to the quarantine facility. The contact tracing of these people is undergoing.

Dr Sharon added that there are 119 active coronavirus cases in the country and all of them are quarantined and are doing well.

"Everyone is reminded of the value of taking personal responsibility to reduce the spread of COVID-19 by maintaining habits to limit the spread of the virus." added the Chief Medical Officer.

"We help every individual to continue partnering with the Ministry of Health by daily studying the disease bar and control measures to minimize the spread of the virus." noted the CMO.

She listed down certain health advises for the people that are mentioned below-

– Wash and sanitize hands

– Always wear a mask every time while in public places and ensure it covers both the mouth and nose

– Maintain a distance of six feet from others which is about two arm's length apart

– Sanitize frequently touched surfaces by using a bleach solution

– Avoid contact with other people who are having flu-like signs

– If you are feeling flu-like symptoms, keep away from others and ask medical care

immediately at the closest community respiratory clinic
